Super busy day!!!
Now i want to say about the economic burden on our men.
Most times, I feel for our men. I love men and I understand them a lot. Sometimes, some women get angry when they think I should take sides with the women but I shock them by taking sides with the men. The reason for this is not very far.

I love and feel for men, good men because I shared and still share a strong and the most loving bond with my father. It’s not easy for men especially the responsible ones. So all we need do is be reasonable and supportive. They really do carry a lot and even with the muscles and confident looks still have a lot of insecurities nagging them.
Most fear the unknown especially as it concerns meeting up with financial targets. A lot of things stare them in the face that make them feel inadequate all the time. Let’s be sensitive and helpful.

The economy is tight and most men are afraid. Yes they are afraid. They may not voice it out or confide in you but that’s because they are also very afraid lest you bruise their ego.

If you have a man and you love him, pray for him, treat him nicely, encourage him and also be realistic. Don’t ask or disturb your man for things he cannot afford.

Above all, never compare him to another man!

So on the 30th of July 2016, we had a great time at the studio producing an episode of Business and Family Lifeline presented by #omalivingshow.

It’s amazing how fearful a lot of us are.
The most fearful people are the ones who appear so courageous on the surface.
Fear!!!
Immense fear!!!
Anxiety and condemning ourselves even without knowing it.

Most of the fears that a lot of us have are basically;
1. The fear of failure and poverty… will I be able to make it financially?
2. Will I be able to settle down? I don’t want to settle with the wrong person! I don’t want to make the wrong choice!
Fears!

These fears can be curbed or reduced if we can open our eyes and search ourselves.
These fears can be reduced if we can;
1. Discover ourselves.
2. Be real.
3. Place our priorities right.
4. Embrace the process.
5. Embrace our imperfection and acknowledge that imperfection is what truly makes life beautiful.

Tips for guys who are looking to settle down…
A materialistic woman is a time bomb waiting to explode. Flee!!!
Run away from a woman who only appreciates you when there is money to throw around.
Run away from anyone who doesn’t encourage you to save and invest.
Run away from any woman who doesn’t appreciate you for you but pressures you into getting things in order to measure up with other men before you can fit into her life. The truth is, if she is constant trying to pressure you to fit into something either getting a better car or getting a new house or another certificate… it will never stop because as long as you are alive, the comparison and pressure will never stop and of course frustration must set in. Be with a person who appreciates you for you and not what you have. There is a difference between encouraging a person to get better and pushing them to do something because you want them to be a model that suits you.
Be with the woman that loves you even when you have nothing, that is the woman that will stay by you no matter the storm or challenge life throws at you.
Marry a woman who is eager to learn and take corrections.
Marry a woman who is humble and naturally submissive no matter who the world thinks she is.
Guys open your eyes and go for the real things.

Ladies;
Stop looking for convenience.
Look beyond the garage and the present house and state of things.
Marry for love.
That man you are looking down on today may become so big tomorrow.
What did your father have when he married your mother?
Develop the mentality of growth and process and not just loving a product you can’t say how it came to be.
Start seeing yourself as someone that should complement not a liability.
Be realistic.
Be true to yourself.
Don’t marry or settle with a man you don’t love because of pressure.
Never think less of yourself.
While you wait for that man, have something going on in your life, a husband is not a career opportunity.

To all of us;
Marriage is not a business prospect.
Marriage is not career.
Marriage is not a business contract.
Marriage is not a game of convenience.
Do not choose a spouse because you feel they are connected and can help your career.
Do not choose a spouse because they are influential.
Do not choose a spouse because of degrees.
Do not choose a spouse because of a green card and plans to travel.

A marriage based on convenience will never last because as soon as the convenience is gone or not met anymore, frustration and all its associates creep in.
Let’s be more serious and real.
All our fears can be conquered if we are real and true to ourselves. – Ogo Marilyn OmaAfrica Anona

You have been looking for a job for so long… why don’t you try volunteer jobs?
I don’t see why an able bodied person should sit down endlessly and submitting CVS lazily waiting to be called and handed over an employment letter.
Hey, get off that sofa, indulge in cold calls to companies of your choice and interest.
Tell them you want to work for them without a pay.
Commence work, put in your very best and be very productive… the result will amaze you!

Apart from that, there are many other things you can do to make money and develop yourself while you gain the experience.

In the city where I live, people make money by shopping for people. You can go to a posh area, approach the residents and tell them you can help them shop if they are too busy to. Don’t start by billing them excessively or ruining your chances because of greed. Shop and get the best prices for them. Take what ever they give you at the end and do it diligently. You can do it for at least 5 families every Saturday… you will be amazed!

How about serving as a home tutor for your neighbours’ kids? This can occupy you and also fetch you money.

How about cooking and delivering food or snacks to people in their offices?

How about doing freelance sales and marketing and making great commissions through them. You will be quick to ask me where you will get the money to use for transportation. Darling, we are in the jet age. You can get people patronise your business or buy what you sell from Facebook and other social networks. Same way you lie down and gossip through inbox, it’s same way you can have meaningful conversation with people.

Apart from these, there are many businesses that you can start with at least 5,000 naira. Get busy! Get real!

Stop making noise about being a graduate, it’s not a big deal. It was a big deal when my dad went to school and they don’t brag about it.

What matters is what you…
What you can do no matter how small.

The 3rd Episode of Business and Family Lifeline is on the 16th of July 2016.
Let’s come together and start living.

Look out for it!

Marilyn Oma Anona writes: Screen your consumption.

The social media is a very powerful means of invading people minds.
I should have used minds and thought but let me avoid thoughts because I just remembered that most of us are lazy and hardly think.

A lot of people have come to develop a certain attitude to life just because of what they consume on here.
Unfortunately, this is a platform that makes everyone appear like a lord.

There is no regulation!
Every junk is allowed and most times, the junks lords attract the most followers.

Most people in life are so drawn to the negative and it’s very glaring on the social media.
They neglect the beautiful sides to everything and exaggerate the negative side.

They see news worth spreading but ignore it to start spreading news of woes and little or no relevance.

Junk over substance!
Negative over positive!
Why though?

For example, I know thousands of very beautiful couples with beautiful relationships and homes, people who should be talked about and celebrated in a bid to inspire and encourage young people like us.
But social media users ignore such and prefer to concentrate on the few who have failed.

You turn on your device and all you read are things and stories that will depress you.
Most people on here are all about the negative.
Why though?

I love positivity but I know about balance and that is what I love to do. I love to balance things.
I know that a coin must have 2 sides.
I know that if there is negative, there must be positive.
I know about the cathode and the anode.

Why then do most people prefer to talk about the negative, concentrating on them and messing minds up.

A young woman thinks of marriage and all she imagines is her future husband strangling her to death.
A young man thinks of marriage and all he imagines is his future wife overly promiscuous or disrespectful.

A lot of minds are messed up and as such conditioned. People make plans (bad plans) even when there is no problem, they anticipate problems and start reading unnecessary meanings to every move.
Does this not compound problems?

We have been listening to negative people for so long, That’s why we live in fear (because you have been made to believe that all men are wife beaters).
That’s why we can’t love whole heartedly (because negative folks have told you live doesn’t exist).
That’s why we are not loyal (because we have been told loyalty is not appreciated).
That’s why we have no respect for one another (because you have been told that you will be taken for granted).

I know we have to talk about bad things, sad ordeals and unfavourable things people have passed through in order to learn and prevent future occurrence. But we should not make it all and all.

We must balance things and infact concentrate on and celebrate the positive more as a means of preferring solution to those ills.

As a result of too much negativity, a lot of people have grown immune to love, loyalty, respect and understanding. They don’t even recognise these things anymore.

The social media is so powerful. We should realise this and learn to use it well.

Dear social media user, please mind what content you unleash.
Use your wall to touch lives.
Use your post to change the world.

Don’t make it seem like you are a sucker for bad and sad news.
Don’t make it seem like you love negativity.

Dear consumer, please be mindful of what you consume.
Know what you stand for.
Know your values.
Not everything is meant for you.

1. The hardest question for most people to answer is

“WHO ARE YOU?”

The funny thing about this question is the confident way people portray their ignorance.

They usually start by telling you their name, date of birth, place of origin, educational qualification and at the end fail to tell you who they are because truly they don’t know who they are!

So I ask… WHO ARE YOU?

2.A stingy soul is a stingy soul…
You don’t have to have the entire world to be generous!

It’s in the heart.

3. Self motivation is the best thing that can happen to an individual and it comes out of a burning desire to succeed against all odds.
A person who is self motivated does not see road blocks, hurdles, challenges or hitches as a sign to give up but as a great opportunity to succeed.
People who are self motivated are those who believe in self development and know that they are accountable for their failure or success.
Self motivated people are highly independent people.
Self motivation is possible when you have a goal in life and a set time to achieve it.

You are URGED to motivate yourself today.
No matter what Oma says, you must agree with me that you only make giant strides when you have decided to push yourself .
It makes more sense to say, ” I can and I must” than “Oma says I can, therefore I think I might”

Let’s all develop a sense of INDEPENDENCE, have a set GOAL, and push ourselves to the EXTREME. That way, RESULTS are inevitable .

4. Check the life of the one who is always giving up…
He doesn’t progress!

Check the life of the one who is always giving reasons for no results…
He never progresses!

Don’t ever take no for an answer…
When someone says no, its a time to press harder!
There is an opportunity in everything including NO!
Stop giving reasons and excuses…
If that guy can make it happen, you can!

LIVE WELL AND SUCCEED… Make it work!
